By 1935 it held around ten percent of the German market, second only to Telefunken. Radio was cutting-edge technology, and illuminated signs like this one told passers-by that a shop sold the newest thing. Fragile glass signs rarely survived the decades and the war, which makes this one exceptional.

The restoration

The sign was cleaned inside and out and electrically checked; all five E27 fittings work. The painted glass carries nearly ninety years of patina. One panel has two old cracks, which we carefully stabilised and glued; they are visible in the photos.

In your interior

For collectors of early radio, German industrial history, Art Deco and vintage advertising, and for high-end interiors, design studios and hospitality spaces that want an object with a real story.
