The Legacy of Kaiser Idell
Kaiser Idell is one of the most iconic names in Bauhaus lighting design. The brand was developed by Christian Dell, a German silversmith and industrial designer, who played a key role in shaping Bauhaus aesthetics. The name "Idell" is derived from Dell’s surname and the word ‘idea.’ The lamps, produced by Gebrüder Kaiser & Co., became famous for their sleek, functional, and high-quality craftsmanship.
Kaiser Idell lamps, including the model 6614, were widely used in offices, workshops, and homes, thanks to their adjustable mechanics and timeless elegance. Their distinctive domed shades and precision-engineered joints made them a staple of 20th-century industrial design. Today, these lamps are highly sought-after collectibles, admired for their history, craftsmanship, and Bauhaus heritage.
This is a rare opportunity to own a piece of design history, a beautifully restored, yet still characterful, original Kaiser Idell 6614 scissor lamp.
