This 1950s French Jieldé wall sconce is one of the most iconic industrial designer wall / bedside lamps ever created.

Originally designed by Jean-Louis Domecq in Lyon, France, the legendary Jieldé lamp became famous for its robust articulated construction, timeless industrial appearance, and innovative cable-free arm system. Today, these lamps remain highly sought after by collectors, interior designers, architects, and lovers of authentic industrial design.

This particular Jieldé Loft wall lamp has been fully restored and refinished in our custom metallic green color we proudly call: “Vespa Green Killer.” And honestly… it might be one of the best colors ever for a Jieldé lamp. The metallic finish combined with the industrial shape gives this piece an incredible vintage and workshop aesthetic.

The original green Jieldé label is still present, adding even more authenticity and character to this rare French industrial light.

This lamp is an original vintage item, meaning signs of age and use are still visible. There are dents inside the shade, visible in the photos, which only add to its authentic industrial history and unique character.

The switch is located on top of the shade. We attached a short electrical cord with EU plug, making it ready to use immediately, but the lamp can also easily be hardwired directly into the wall if preferred.

🔦 About Jieldé

The history of the Jieldé lamp began in 1951 when French designer Jean-Louis Domecq became frustrated with constantly repairing the articulated lamps in his workshop. He decided to create a more durable, practical, and flexible working lamp.

His revolutionary solution was to eliminate visible wiring completely by integrating the electrical contacts inside the articulated joints. This ingenious system allowed the lamp to rotate freely without tangled cords, making the Jieldé one of the most innovative industrial lamps ever produced.

More than 70 years later, the design remains virtually unchanged and continues to be celebrated worldwide as an industrial design icon.
