The story
ADB was founded in Belgium in 1920 by Adrien De Backer. It began with laboratory equipment, built some of the earliest reliable stage dimmers, and by the late 1930s was making spotlights for theatres, opera houses, television studios and touring productions across Europe. The SP series reflects the robust, no-compromise craftsmanship of that era.
The restoration
We cleaned the spotlight, rewired it and tested it. The mechanical beam control on the back still lets you shift from a wide flood to a focused spot, exactly as it was used on stage. The patina is original.
In your interior
Above a kitchen island, in a home cinema, on a loft ceiling or in a gallery or shop: this is lighting meant to be seen. Each lamp has its own marks from decades of use.
