A smaller A.E. Cremer theatre spotlight, made in Paris in the 1950s, in its original black paint with an honest patina. On a wooden surveyor tripod it reaches 130 to 180 cm, which makes it one of the few vintage spotlights that fits a living room without dominating it.

The story

A.E. Cremer lit Parisian stages, film sets and early television from around 1920 until the 1970s. The “Bté SGDG” stamp on the housing stands for Breveté Sans Garantie du Gouvernement, a patent mark French makers used until 1968. It confirms the lamp’s age and origin.

The restoration

We rewired the spotlight for any LED or standard bulb and left the paint and patina untouched.

In your interior

Its modest size suits a living room, bedroom or reading corner. A good first piece for anyone who wants authentic French stage lighting at home.
