The story
The ALM Chick lit surgeries at the University Hospital in Amsterdam in the 1980s. Its head was built to give strong, even light without hard shadows, a piece of Dutch medical history.
The restoration
The head was given a fresh satin black finish and fitted with an E14 socket, approx. 3 m of cord, a switch and an EU plug. The front panel with the handle was repaired. Bilora, the German maker of photography tripods, supplied the base.
In your interior
In black on a slim aluminium tripod it reads as a graphic, architectural floor lamp for a loft, studio, boutique or living room.
