An original Model 98 desk lamp designed by H. Th. J. A. Busquet for Hala Zeist, the Netherlands. A genuine vintage piece of Dutch modernist design, finished in black, restored and ready for daily use.
Hala, based in the town of Zeist, is widely recognized as one of the earliest lighting manufacturers in the Netherlands. From around 1932 its designs were led by H. Th. J. A. Busquet, a Dutch modernist whose work drew on Bauhaus and De Stijl principles: reduced to essentials, function-led, and quietly elegant. His Hala lamps, among them the celebrated Model 144 and the Pinocchio, are collected across Europe today. This Model 98 belongs to that same design language.
