The story
NOS (Nitrous Oxide Systems) bottles became an icon of street racing and car tuning around the turn of the millennium, made famous by The Fast and the Furious films and the game Need for Speed Underground 2. This lamp turns a real fire extinguisher into that iconic nitrous oxide bottle, with a pressure gauge and rotary knob for looks.
The restoration
The bottle was sanded, painted in metallic nitro blue and finished with a NOS label, then mounted on a thick oak panel that hangs on two screws. We wired it by hand with an E14 fitting, approx. 2 m of cord, a switch and an EU plug. It is an empty bottle, not a working nitrous tank.
