From the operating table to your living room. A lamp with a past life unlike any other.
This is a genuine Heraeus Hanaulux London shadowless surgical lamp, the kind of light that once hung above operating tables in hospitals, engineered to eliminate every trace of shadow from a surgeon's field of view.

It has been upcycled into a one-of-a-kind floor lamp and mounted on a custom-built vintage wooden tripod crafted entirely from reclaimed army medical crutches.
The result is a piece that occupies a category of its own. Clinical precision. Military history. Industrial artistry. All in one object.
There is nothing else like this. There will not be another.

The Tripod: Army Medical Crutches
The base of this lamp is unlike anything else. It is a custom-built tripod constructed entirely from reclaimed wooden army medical crutches. The kind issued to soldiers in field hospitals and military medical facilities. Sturdy, weathered, and carrying their own quiet history.
The contrast between the clinical polish of the surgical head and the warm wood of the crutch tripod is what makes this piece impossible to look away from. Two worlds of function, medical precision and human vulnerability meeting in a single object.

🏥 The Story of Heraeus Hanaulux
Heraeus is one of Germany's oldest and most respected technology companies, with roots going back to a family pharmacy founded in Hanau in 1660. The modern company was established in 1851 and grew into a global leader in precision instruments, medical technology, and specialty light sources.

The Hanaulux London was among their flagship surgical lighting systems, engineered to produce up to 7,500 foot-candles of completely shadow-free illumination, with an adjustable focus pattern that allowed surgeons to dial in the exact beam they needed. These lamps were designed to perform without failure in the most demanding environments imaginable: the operating room.
This one survived. And now it lights your home.

🌿 Authentic Character
As a genuine piece from the 1990s, this lamp carries minor signs of age and use: small marks that only deepen its story. These are not defects. They are evidence.
