The story
The Patt 123 is one of Strand Electric's best-known theatre spotlights, nicknamed the "egg" for its rounded aluminium body. Strand produced it in London between 1950 and 1968, and it lit stages in theatres, schools and studios across Britain. In the late 1960s the company was taken over by the Rank Organisation, and lamps from that period carry the Rank Strand name.
The restoration
The spotlight was fully restored with a fresh satin black finish and rewired with an E27 fitting, a switch at the back, approx. 3 m of cord and an EU plug. Signs of its working life on stage remain visible.
In your interior
Fully adjustable in direction, it gives warm, focused light in a living room, loft, restaurant, studio or shop, and brings real theatre history into the interior. A statement piece for interior designers and lovers of stage and film lighting.
