The story

RFT (Rundfunk- und Fernmeldetechnik) was the East German brand for radio and telecommunications equipment. Clocks like this one hung in German stations, read from both sides by travellers on the platform.

The restoration

The housing was refinished in hammered grey, the dial was redesigned in opal with new plexiglass, and two high-torque quartz movements now drive the original hands. The fluorescent tubes were replaced by an LED strip with remote control.

In your interior

Hung from the ceiling or mounted on a bracket in an entrance hall, restaurant, office or loft, it reads from both sides and glows in the evening. A statement piece for interior designers and collectors of railway history.
