The story
SIS Leuchten was a German lamp maker whose clamp and desk lamps were common in 1960s offices, studios and homes. The bright red shade and chrome gooseneck are typical of the optimistic colours of the period.
The restoration
The lamp was rewired with a new E27 fitting, 2 m of cord, an inline switch and an EU plug. The clamp mount is a replacement, not the original part. A warm white LED bulb is included.
In your interior
Clamped to a desk, shelf or headboard, or fixed to the wall as a reading light, it adds a touch of mid-century colour to a workspace or bedroom.
