This is an original Strand Electric Patt 23 theater spotlight, the one they call the "Pig Nose." Could you tell why? 
Produced in England in the 1960s, this instantly recognizable piece of British stage history has been upcycled into a fully functional desk lamp on a custom black base. And it comes with something you won't find anywhere else: an original Toverli color-wheel motor, still attached to the front of the spotlight, exactly where it was mounted in the theatre.
The color wheel itself is gone. The motor wires are not connected. But the motor is there, original, authentic, and genuinely cool. A stage artifact that turns this lamp into a sculptural object unlike anything else. One of a kind. There is no other.

Strand Electric was the dominant name in British professional stage lighting for decades supplying theatres, television studios, and concert halls across the UK and beyond. The Patt 23, nicknamed "the Pig Nose" or "Pipo" for its distinctive twin-lens front, became one of the most recognizable stage spotlights of the 1960s. These lamps lit the stages of some of Britain's most celebrated performances.
The Toverli color-wheel motor adds a further layer of history. Toverli was an Amsterdam-based manufacturer of professional theatre lighting equipment, their motors were used across European stages to create dynamic color effects by rotating a wheel of colored gels in front of the spotlight beam. This motor was fitted to this exact lamp during its working life. It stayed. It belongs here.
