Bosch Eisemann Military Spotlight Floor Lamp | Vintage Field Searchlight on Original Bosch Tripod

An industrial floor lamp with serious history and character, built from an original Bosch Eisemann military searchlight once used on military vehicles, as a field lamp, and on construction sites. Now professionally converted into a fully functional floor lamp, it carries a raw, rusty patina that brings authentic industrial soul into a modern interior.

The story

Robert Bosch opened his workshop for precision mechanics and electrical engineering in Stuttgart in 1886, and within a couple of decades the company he built had become the name behind the magnetos and spark plugs that made the modern combustion engine reliable. By 1914, Bosch had expanded into generators and vehicle lighting at its Feuerbach plant, work that positioned the company to become one of Germany's leading suppliers of electrical and lighting equipment for vehicles, industry, and eventually the military. Eisemann-Werke, a separate German manufacturer known for its own magnetos, generators, and portable electrical and lighting equipment since the early twentieth century, became part of the Bosch group over the course of the company's growth, which is why equipment from this era can carry both names side by side.

Spotlights and searchlights built under the Bosch Eisemann name served a genuinely practical range of roles: mounted on military vehicles for visibility in the field, carried as portable field lamps, and used on construction sites where a rugged, weatherproof light source was needed far from any fixed power supply. That kind of hard, outdoor working life is exactly what has given this particular fixture its raw, rusty patina, a finish no workshop could convincingly fake, because it was earned one job at a time over decades.

We mounted the spotlight on an original Bosch metal tripod, keeping its original mounting system intact, so the piece is fully height-adjustable and stable. Even the original switch on the spotlight housing still works, a small detail that keeps its authentic military character intact rather than hiding it behind a modern replacement.

The lamp has been professionally rewired and fitted with an E14 socket, with an LED bulb included, so it is ready to use straight out of the box. As a genuine vintage piece, every mark and trace of rust is left as found rather than polished away, because each one is part of what makes this lamp completely unique.
