The story
Hanau was a centre of German medical and dental lighting in the mid-20th century. Lamps like this one lit operations, their blue lenses focusing a strong, even beam on the operating field.
The restoration
The head was refinished in satin hammered black and rewired with four G9 fittings, 3 m of cord, an inline switch and an EU plug. The rotating lens dial was preserved. The Wild Heerbrugg tripod was painted black, with its aluminium inserts left visible.
In your interior
Height and direction are fully adjustable, which makes it as useful in a photo studio as it is striking in a living room corner, loft, gallery or retail space.
