The story
In 1951 Jean-Louis Domecq, tired of repairing fragile lamps in his workshop, designed his own. He ran the current through sliding contacts in the joints instead of an external cord, so the lamp could turn freely without tangling. Built from a few interchangeable parts, the Jieldé became a design icon that is still made today.
The restoration
We rewired the lamp for safe use and left the original green paint and patina untouched. The original switch on the shade still works.
In your interior
For those who want a Jieldé that shows its history. On a desk, workbench or sideboard, the two long arms put the light wherever you need it.
