The story
Midgard lamps, designed by Curt Fischer in Germany in the 1920s, set the standard for articulated workshop lighting. Eric Kirkman Cole, founder of the British firm EKCO, made his name with bakelite design. This lamp brings an arm in the Midgard tradition together with one of his shades, as a one-off combination.
The restoration
The lamp is checked and works with its original switch. The black finish shows its age.
In your interior
A desk or wall lamp for those who like design history with a twist: industrial in form, with the warm sheen of bakelite.
