The story
Pragotron of Prague supplied clocks to railway stations across Czechoslovakia and Eastern Europe. Large square clocks like this one hung in station halls, where travellers read the time from far away.
The restoration
The body received a fresh dark grey hammered finish. We fitted a new white opal dial cover with vinyl numerals designed after the original face, recreated the hands and installed a high-torque quartz movement. An LED strip with remote control lights the dial from inside.
In your interior
At almost a metre square it fills a large wall in a restaurant, hotel lobby, office or loft, or stands on the floor as a freestanding object. A centrepiece for designers and collectors of railway history.
