The story
Tokina, founded in Tokyo in 1950, built a reputation for well-made independent lenses. Its RMC zooms were popular with photographers in the 1970s and 1980s. The pulley once ran a barn door.
The restoration
We fitted the lens with an E14 socket and about 3 metres of cord, and refinished the pulley in satin black.
In your interior
A small wall light for a bedside, desk or a photographer’s studio or office, where the long zoom lens gets noticed.
